Forgetting the Echoes of Yesterday

Poetry Image

In the quiet of the night, memories fade,
Like whispers lost in the wind’s serenade.
Once vivid dreams now drift away,
Shadows of a past that cannot stay.

The echoes of laughter, once so near,
Dissolve into the silence, disappear.
Faces and places blur in the mind,
Leaving only traces, hard to find.

Time, the healer of wounds so deep,
Weaves a tapestry of secrets to keep.
Moments slip through fingers like sand,
Forgotten treasures in a distant land.

Yet, in the heart, some fragments remain,
Etched in the soul, like a lingering pain.
For in forgetting, we also forgive,
And in letting go, we truly live.
