Betrayal of Friendship: A Wounded Heart’s Lament

Poetry Image

Once we walked side by side, hearts intertwined,
Sharing secrets, dreams, and hopes unconfined.
In the laughter and tears, our bond seemed unbreakable,
But now I stand alone, the silence unmistakable.

Trust shattered like glass upon the floor,
The echoes of betrayal, an ever-present roar.
Your words once sweet, now bitter and cold,
A friendship’s end, a story untold.

Memories haunt me, shadows of what was,
Questions linger, seeking the cause.
How could you turn, leave me in despair,
When once we promised, we’d always care?

The wound may heal, but the scar will remain,
A testament to love turned into pain.
Betrayal’s sting, a lesson learned,
In the ashes of friendship, trust was burned.
