Apologies Spoken in the Quiet of Night

Poetry Image

In the stillness of the evening’s embrace,
I find the courage to speak my remorse.
Words tumble softly, seeking their place,
In the silent void, they chart their course.

My heart, a vessel heavy with regret,
Yearns for forgiveness, a tender reprieve.
Every sigh is a whisper, a silent duet,
Hoping your heart might still believe.

Shadows dance on the wall, a somber waltz,
Reflecting the sorrow that I cannot hide.
The night listens, understanding my faults,
As I lay bare the tears I’ve cried.

With each apology, a bridge is mended,
Spanning the chasm between you and me.
In this quiet night, our hearts are tended,
And I pray, in time, we might both be free.
