A Love That Burns, Yet Never Warms

Poetry Image

In the shadows of affection, where whispers turn to cries,
Lies a love so toxic, it blinds the fairest eyes.
Promises like poison, seeping through the veins,
Leaving scars and bruises, hidden by the chains.

The heart’s a battlefield, torn by silent screams,
A war of contradictions, unraveling at the seams.
Words like daggers, cutting deep and raw,
Yet in the midst of chaos, we still return for more.

Sweet illusions falter, revealing bitter truth,
A dance of devastation, robbing us of youth.
Clinging to the fragments, of what we hoped to be,
Ensnared by the memories, that never set us free.

In the end, we’re shattered, broken by the fight,
A love that promised daylight, but only gave us night.
Walking away with pieces, of a heart that once was whole,
Finding strength in freedom, reclaiming our lost soul.
