A Homage to Trees: Inspired by Joyce Kilmer’s Verse

Poetry Image

Underneath the verdant canopy, we stand,
Where leaves whisper secrets through the breeze.
Roots delve deep into the sacred land,
Branches stretch, embracing skies with ease.

In the hush of dawn, the trees awake,
With dewdrops glistening on each leaf.
Their silent vigil, for our sake,
Offers solace, from the world’s brief grief.

Through seasons’ dance, they proudly sway,
Bearing witness to time’s gentle flow.
Each ring, a story of a bygone day,
A testament to what they know.

As twilight falls, their shadows grow,
Silhouettes against the fading light.
Trees remain, through ebb and flow,
Guardians of the day and night.
