Whispers in the Midnight Silence

Poetry Image

The clock ticks loud in the stillness,
Each second a reminder of sleep unclaimed,
Eyes wide open in the blanket of darkness,
Mind wandering through a labyrinth unnamed.

The moonlight spills through the curtains,
Casting shadows that dance on the wall,
Thoughts like waves crash in turbulent patterns,
In the quietest hour, I hear their call.

Restless turning, seeking comfort in vain,
The sheets a tangled testament to unrest,
Dreams remain elusive, hiding from my pain,
As night stretches on, a relentless guest.

Dawn creeps in with a soft, silver hue,
Fatigue clings like a garment too tight,
Another day begins, heavy and new,
Battling the residue of a sleepless night.
