In the depths where hope has fled,
Shadows whisper tales of woe,
Hearts once bright, now stained with dread,
In darkness, sorrow’s seeds do grow.
The light of day, a distant dream,
Eyes once clear, now clouded grey,
Silent cries, a muffled scream,
As joy and peace both slip away.
A heavy cloak of night descends,
Enveloping the weary soul,
Emptiness, the heart’s new friend,
In despair’s grip, no longer whole.
Yet still a flicker, faint and small,
Buried deep within the pain,
A chance for hope to break the thrall,
And bring the light to life again.
