Final Voyage of the Sailor’s Dream

Poetry Image

Upon the waves, the ship did glide,
Through mist and tempest, side by side.
Her wooden bones, so strong and true,
Faced the abyss, the ocean’s blue.

The crew, with hearts as bold as brass,
Fought the storm that none could pass.
Their spirits high, their voices clear,
Yet doom approached, so very near.

The thunder roared, the lightning flashed,
Against the ship, the waters crashed.
She groaned and creaked, her frame did sway,
As night turned into darkest day.

And when the dawn began to break,
The sea did claim, for old time’s sake.
No more the ship, no more the crew,
Just whispers of the ocean blue.
