Once we walked the path so bright,
In laughter’s echo, hearts so light.
But shadows crept, unseen, unknown,
And friendship’s seeds were overthrown.
Trust was shattered like fragile glass,
Memories of joy now in the past.
Promises whispered in the night,
Faded away with morning’s light.
Deceit’s cold hand, it gripped too tight,
Turning day into endless night.
A friend once dear, now lost to time,
Betrayal’s song, a haunting chime.
Yet from the ashes, strength I find,
To leave the pain and lies behind.
For even though the heart may bleed,
In truth and hope, my soul is freed.
