The Silent Killer of Dreams and Breath

Poetry Image

In shadows linger the wisps of smoke,
A silent thief of dreams and hope.
With every puff, a future fades,
In smoky haze, life’s beauty stays.

The youth once bright, now lost in clouds,
As nicotine wraps in shrouds.
The taste of freedom, long forgot,
As lungs and heart begin to rot.

A fleeting pleasure, a lasting pain,
In every drag, there’s much to gain.
But health and joy slip through the cracks,
As smoke consumes and never lacks.

Oh, silent killer, leave us be,
Let dreams and breath be wild and free.
For in the end, when all is done,
Life’s essence lost, and health is gone.
