Releasing the Heart: The Pain and Peace of Letting Go

Poetry Image

In the quiet hours of the night,
When the world is hushed, and still,
I feel the echo of your light,
Yet I know I’ve had my fill.

Your laughter once a melody,
Now a ghostly, distant sound,
I cling to fading memory,
As I place my feet on solid ground.

The ache of love’s last tender kiss,
A bittersweet and fleeting touch,
I release my heart into the abyss,
Knowing I have loved too much.

With teary eyes and heavy heart,
I whisper soft goodbyes,
Letting go, we drift apart,
Beneath the vast, forgiving skies.
