Whispers of Unmet Expectations

Poetry Image

In the quiet of a shadowed room,Dreams once bright, now dimmed and gray,The echoes of a hopeful tune,Fade softly with the end of day.The heart, a vessel fraught with care,Holds tightly to its silent grief,While promises dissolve like air,And time, a thief, remains the chief.Beneath the stars, a tear does fall,Carving paths on weary cheeks,A silent testament to all,The words that disappointment speaks.Yet in the stillness of the night,A whisper stirs, a gentle call,To find again the strength to fight,To rise once more, despite the fall.
