The Dark Abyss of Despair: A Tale of Addiction

Poetry Image

In the shadows of the night, it calls so sweet,
A promise of escape, a dream so fleet.
But the path it leads is dark and steep,
Into an abyss, where souls weep.

A moment’s high, a fleeting joy,
A cruel trick, a devil’s ploy.
Chains unseen, yet they bind so tight,
A never-ending, desperate fight.

Friends and family, they drift away,
As the world turns a colder grey.
The mirror shows a stranger’s face,
Lost in time, lost in space.

But hope remains, a distant star,
To guide you back, no matter how far.
Break the chains, reclaim your light,
For in the end, you have the might.
