When Love Turns to Chains and Smiles Hide the Pain

Poetry Image

In the shadows of whispered lies,
Where promises fade and truth denies,
A heart once open now restrained,
In love’s embrace, both bound and pained.

Dreams that danced in golden light,
Are swallowed whole by endless night.
The words that cut, the silence loud,
Hope buried beneath a toxic shroud.

Hands that once held gentle grace,
Now leave scars that time can’t erase.
In the mirror, a fractured view,
Lost in illusions that once felt true.

Yet even in this storm’s cruel reign,
A seed of strength begins to gain.
For hearts that break, can also mend,
And find the courage to ascend.
