In the Shadows of Despair

Poetry Image

In the shadows of despair, where light is but a ghost,
I wander through the corridors, a soul that’s lost, engrossed.
The echoes of forgotten dreams, they haunt these hollow walls,
And every step I take, it seems, another teardrop falls.

The night, it wraps around my heart, a cloak of endless sorrow,
With promises of darkness that will greet me on the morrow.
The stars above, they flicker faint, reminders of lost grace,
And in the mirror, all I see is just a weary face.

Each breath I take is heavy, weighed with burdens of the past,
The memories of happier days, I fear they will not last.
The silence sings a mournful tune, a song of endless night,
And though I search for solace, I find no trace of light.

Yet still, within this void of pain, a spark of hope remains,
A whisper in the darkness, amidst the endless rains.
For even in the deepest gloom, a ray of dawn may break,
And with it, bring a chance anew, for this lost soul to wake.
