In the Shadows of Your Absence

Poetry Image

When the dusk falls and silence reigns,
I hear the echoes of your name,
Whispered softly in the breeze,
A soul at rest, yet I am at unease.

Your laughter once filled these empty halls,
Now it lingers like ghostly calls,
Each memory a bittersweet song,
A testament to where I belong.

In dreams, you visit, tender and kind,
A fleeting moment, a trick of the mind,
But when I wake, the void remains,
Only shadows of joy amidst my pains.

Though you are gone, your love survives,
In the hearts of those you left behind,
I carry your spirit, your light within,
Until the day we meet again.
