Shadows in the Home: A Tale of Domestic Abuse

Poetry Image

In the quiet corners where shadows dwell,
There lies a story too painful to tell.
A heart in silence, a cry unheard,
A soul entrapped, by fear interred.

Walls whisper secrets of broken dreams,
Of love transformed to violent screams.
Hope fades in the dimming light,
As night consumes the will to fight.

Bruises hidden beneath a fragile smile,
A mask worn for a little while.
The world outside remains unaware,
Of the silent battles fought in despair.

Yet in the darkness, a spark persists,
A strength within, that quietly insists.
One day, the chains will break and fall,
And courage will answer the freedom call.
