Whispers of a Choked Earth

Poetry Image

In the city’s smog-clad veil,
Where sunlight struggles to prevail,
The trees stand silent, frail,
A story they cannot tell.

Rivers run with tainted flow,
Once pure, now a sorrow’s show.
Fish beneath the surface know,
The cost of what humans sow.

Skies once blue now gray with gloom,
Birds’ songs replaced by industry’s boom.
Flowers wilt before they bloom,
Nature’s essence lost too soon.

But in the heart of every child,
Lies a hope, so pure and wild.
To heal the world, make it mild,
And bring back nature’s smile.
